Learning & the Brain runs its Winter Educational Conference every February in the city of San Francisco and a series of summer institutes every July in Santa Barbara.
This year’s conference in San Francisco will be on the topic of “Teaching Engaged Brains: Improving Student Attention, Motivation, and Mindsets in a Disengaged, Distracted Age.” This educational conference will be held at the Fairmont San Francisco atop Nob Hill with Carol S. Dweck, Kelly M. McGonigal, Adam Gazzaley, MD, PhD, Gloria J. Mark, PhDand more than 50 other speakers. Over 1,500 educators and clinicians from around California, the United States, and the world are expected to attend.
Learning & the Brain also has an annual series of summer institutes for teachers, administrators, clinicians, and college instructors in Santa Barbara. Located two hours north of Los Angeles, these summer institutes take place on the oceanside campus of UC Santa Barbara. These one-week institutes are limited to 40 people, involve active participation, and are designed to give participants in-depth information and strategies to bring back to their school, district, or practice.
These education conferrences and summer institutes provide professional development for K-12 and university level educators.
